NYUMBANI

NYUMBANI is a Swedish company established in spring of 2008. We import and sell home styling products and handicraft from Africa, either through our web shop or our store in Landsbro. We, the founders of the company, have both lived and traveled a lot in Africa, and have fallen in love with the heat, scents and hospitality that we meet wherever we go.

NYUMBANI means home in Swahili, a suitable name for a company selling home styling products from Africa.

OUR BUSINESS IDEA

When we established NYUMBANI we draw up three guidelines for our business.

·         We will only sell products we use or want to buy for ourselves. We don’t want to hesitate when we recommend the products to our customers.

·         Even though most of our products come from Africa, we don’t settle with that. The products must have a quality and design that stands, despite the origin. 

·         The third and most important guideline we call “aid by trade”.  We believe that business can help bring a region out of poverty if the employees and the surrounding get a fair part of the profit.

Therefore we are careful when we choose our suppliers and products. Our suppliers take care of their employees as well as the environment.

We hope that you, as our customer, will find the same joy and inspiration when you take part of our products as we have.
